Our Lodge

Mayleko Lodge blends traditional elegance with modern luxury and offers cuisine and service of fittingly standard.

Mayleko, the name is derived from a part of Ethiopia that is well known as the home of ancient kings and queens and epitomes the tradition that is truly Ethiopian. The ancient castle of Fasiledes, the oldest and most imposing of the 17th century structures found in the city is only 15 Km from the lodge. Not only will guests have the opportunity to learn more about this part of Ethiopia, they will also do it in style with Mayleko.

Rooms

Our rooms are tastefully furnished with a traditional and modern furnitures. They are bright, spacious and provide atmost comfort for our guests. The Mayleko Lodge is situated against the backdrop of the Dilha Mountains and its spectacular views. Small farms and interlocking valleys and ridges are also visible in the distance and make Mayleko Lodge the perfect place to relax and unwind. Lovely Lodge. Wonderful Staff

“The Lodge is situated on the edge of Gonder and the restaurant terrace has wonderful views over the surrounding countryside. We loved the simple aesthetics and tranquility of the Lodge and the staff were exceptional. The restaurant offers a good selection of Ethiopian and Western food.”

“The Lodge is ideally situated near the airport for those coming to the town or nearby Simien Mountains. The staff are extremely helpful, pleasant and attentive. The layout of single lodges is pleasant and promotes privacy and peace and quiet. The restaurant is good and provides fresh food well cooked. The only draw back is that the wifi is only available in the reception.”

Super charming place with great staff!

“Excellent place to relax after a few days in the Simien Mountains. The rooms are just perfect - very spacious, great (hot) showers and providing the most comfortable bed in Ethiopia! The restaurant offers delicious food - both ethiopian and international, additionally you can sit outside and enjoy the beautiful view over the lodge. The lodge has a pool for hot summer days. Most importantly the staff is amazing and helped us with everything we needed (trips to Gonder, airport shuttle, etc.) Can’t wait to come back!”

“We stayed at the Mayleko Lodge one night on our short stay in Gondar. We had breakfast, and dinner here. The cottages are clean and comfortable. The restaurant was minimal but the service was good. There is a pool which we didn't use”
